How to Manually Enter Background Checks From an Outside Source


Organizations are not required to utilize Abuse Prevention Systems as their Background Check provider if another vendor is preferred. To utilize the Control Panel to track Background Check completions and renewals from another provider:

  1. Click ‘Manage Users’ on the left-hand toolbar, then click the ‘Edit icon’ to the left of the User’s name.
  2. Check the box next to ‘External BG Completion.’
  3. Enter the date when the Background Check must be renewed.
  4. Click ‘Save.’

Can’t see the edit icon? Supervisors cannot edit user’s information by default, so an SSA must give Supervisors that functionality. Click here to learn how.
